About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU - 1 prior travel assignment completed License: - MD State licensure Certifications: - BLS - CRT Must-Have: - ED experience preferred - ACLS preferred Description: RRT position with a shift of 3x12 nights. The role involves managing airway devices and suctioning. Responsibilities include endotracheal tube and suctioning, extubation, and nasal airway placement. The therapist will perform pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection. Tracheostomy care and ABG interpretation are also required. Skills required include the use of various inhaled medications and devices, such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and nebulizers. Experience with high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and CPAP is essential. The therapist must be comfortable drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases. Candidates will be expected to float between adult and neonatal patient populations. Familiarity with specific ventilators, including Draeger V500 and Servo U, is required.
