Application EngineerJob Category: ManufacturingRequisition Number: APPLI004304Location: Woburn, MA 01801, USAJob DetailsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop manufacturing process for new and legacy multi-axis parts.Mill-Turn experience highly desirable. 5 Axis milling experience is acceptable.Design work holding and fixtures.Program parts and fixtures Cad/Cam program.Use machine simulation software to ensure collision free code.Aid in quoting new work, including design for manufacturability feedback to customers.S/U and run CNC mills and lathes as needed to support new product introduction and continuous improvement efforts.Communicate and resolve issues with peers/manufacturing.Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas on new and legacy parts.Consults with supervisors, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems.Converts designs and specifications into computer code.Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:Have a minimum of 3-years of cad/cam program experience --- with a minimum of 3 years CNC experience combined with excellent computer skills.Experience with GD&T.Self-Starter / Self-Motivated / Flexible / Detail-Oriented.Reliable and dependable.Positive internal and customer focused attitude.Must enjoy fast pace and rapidly changing environment.Strong ability to organize, prioritize and communicate.Champion projects to ensure meeting customer delivery.On-the-job cad/cam training/growth will be provided for the motivated applicant.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical Demands:Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.Work Environment:Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work.
