Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Job Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions,
• Patient population includes respiratory insufficiency, acute MI, cardiac disease, neurological disorders, and CVA,
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00),
• Required to work every other weekend,
• No on-call requirements,
• May float within scope to same level of care or one step below (Med Surg),
• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand (pending license not accepted),
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/telemetry nursing experience required,
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS,
• Experience with bedside HD, endoscope, chest tubes, EEG, cardioversion, and arterial lines required,
• Experience with high flow O2 delivery devices required,
• Epic charting system experience required,

Additional Information

• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC),
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and utilize rapid response/code teams,
• Assist with procedures including thoracentesis, chemical cardioversion, and electrical cardioversion,
• Provide care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and cardiac angiogram,
• Manage cardiac drips without titration and administer procedural sedation monitoring,
• Navy blue scrubs required,
