The Customer Sales Manager, Costco contributes to Haleon's success by executing a profitable selling strategy and is responsible for managing key relationships at Costco Wholesale. This includes negotiating customer agreements that deliver against annual Haleon operating plans while successfully delivering against the customer's expectations. The CSM is Haleon's "ambassador" to the trade and represents the entire range of company products at Costco Wholesale, while leading planning cycles and ensuring the Costco Buying Teams' needs and expectations are met. Further, this person must prepare and conduct monthly/quarterly internal presentations and have excellent internal/external relationship building skills to engage and connect Haleon and Costco teams, to identify value-creation opportunities, to build trust and endorse and support the execution of initiatives, plans and strategies that support the Club class of trade.
This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Consistently deliver against the sales and customer profitability targets
- Collaborate cross-functionally w/ Customer Strategy, Operations and Finance to ensure execution excellence
- Develop and lead channel/business unit development, including e-commerce, business delivery, and international opportunities and negotiations
- Consistent commitment to focus on the presence of brands and claims in the club environment
- Help to uncover insights that lead to engaging activation strategies and connect Haleon brands to Shopper needs
- Lead on-going customer business planning sessions while balancing achievement of HALEON equity and customer goals.
- Document complex issues and proposals in succinct and persuasive manner; present to groups representing multiple and dissenting points of view; and execute a negotiation strategy.
- Demonstrate excellent all-around financial acumen across the whole P&L, including Price, GTN / Net Revenue Management.
- Proactively identify competitive activity at Costco and in club which may have major, long-term impact on Brand and Corporate goals and strategies. Provide recommendations and cost-effective plans of action.
- Work closely with Haleon Customer Marketing teams to ensure complete communication of trends and opportunities for brand development. Execute strategic initiatives on core brands that build long/short-term sales for Haleon and customer categories.
- Assist in developing new analytical tools and processes, identify and forecast opportunities for customer action plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 + years' experience working directly with Costco and/or other large customers.
- Experience with Circana (IRI), POS data, Retail Link, and Category Management
- Strong Analytics & business acumen - proven track record of success in account management with a focus on fact based, analytical selling
- Required travel is 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Effective communicator across different mediums (oral, written, face-to-face, and remotely via available and new technology
- Experience engaging senior level executives and building relationships
- Ability to execute strategies and tactics to drive consumer/shopper engagement along the path to purchase
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, mine for insights and develop conclusions/strategy
- Proven ability to Influence and collaborate effectively as part of a team and with key stakeholders
- High integrity, fairness, and transparency
The salary range for this role is $137,185 - $188,630 USD + bonus
