Mechanical Project EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Project Engineer to lead mechanical design and project delivery for building systems. The ideal candidate will manage MEP/HVAC projects from concept through closeout, coordinate multidisciplinary teams using BIM tools, and ensure installations meet performance, schedule, and budget targets.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical engineering design and project execution for MEP/HVAC systems across commercial and institutional projects.Develop and review mechanical calculations, equipment selections, schedules, and specifications to meet project requirements and codes.Produce and coordinate Revit/BIM models and 2D CAD drawings for mechanical systems; ensure model accuracy and clash coordination with other disciplines.Collaborate with architects, electrical and plumbing engineers, contractors, and owners to resolve design issues and integrate systems.Prepare construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and design change documentation; support construction administration and commissioning activities.Manage project scope, budgets, and schedules; track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to meet deliverables.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters; review work for quality and adherence to standards.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, sustainability goals, and client requirements, and assist with permitting as needed.Participate in client meetings, present technical solutions, and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.EIT certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering for building MEP/HVAC systems; project engineering or design-build experience preferred.Proficient in Revit (MEP/BIM), AutoCAD, and mechanical analysis tools; experience with clash detection and BIM coordination.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork and piping design, equipment selection, load calculations, and industry codes (ASHRAE, IMC, NFPA, local codes).Experience preparing construction documents, specifications, submittals, and performing construction administration duties.Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, with a commitment to quality and safety.BenefitsHealth/Dental/Vision90% paid health and dental insuranceRetirement savings plan with 401K MatchPaid time offOpportunities for career development through paid training and education
