Job Title: CNC Set-Up Machinist

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC machining centers to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced machine shop environment. You will interpret complex blueprints, optimize machining processes, and ensure parts meet precise specifications through careful setup, operation, and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.

• Set up and run CNC machining centers, ensuring each setup is efficient, repeatable, and capable of meeting all quality requirements.

• Prove out new CNC programs by running test pieces, identifying issues, and making necessary adjustments to achieve stable and accurate production.

• De-bug CNC programs by troubleshooting errors, refining tool paths, and improving cycle times while maintaining part quality.

• Apply expert knowledge of materials to determine the most efficient cutting speeds and feeds for each job.

• Select and use appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding methods to complete jobs efficiently and safely.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a CNC set-up machinist.

• Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers.

• Proficiency with Mazak or Fanuc CNC equipment and controls.

• Ability to interpret, edit, and program G-code efficiently.

• Strong blueprint and drawing interpretation skills for complex parts.

• Demonstrated CNC set-up skills, including tooling selection and fixture setup.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Northampton, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
