Candidates must be committed to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete and be willing to adhere to all Bethel University, Crossroads League, and NAIA Regulations. The following duties are customary for this position, but are not all-inclusive -- duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on head coach and athletic director discretion and institutional needs:On-court coaching during team and individual training/practice/workouts.Game day coaching, preparation, operations, and personnel managementAssist with practice planning, organization, and executionFilm breakdownAssist with travel preparation and logisticsScout and recruit quality student-athletesHead coach of the reserve team - recruit, run practices, schedule gamesAssist in the implementation of the academic program, including the monitoring of individual student-athlete's progress to ensure academic eligibility, and referral to appropriate University academic resourcesAssist with team equipment and supplies inventoryAssist with player developmentAssist with supervision of team managersEngage in fundraising efforts and other public relations activities as requested by the Head CoachPlan and execute camps and clinics for perspective student-athletes and youth in the local communityPerform other duties as assigned by the head coachKnowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:Must be self-motivated and team-orientedDevelop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sportKnowledge of NAIA rulesExcellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skillsExperience with Microsoft Office productsMust be willing and able to travel and work evenings and weekendsAbility to build positive and meaningful relationships with student-athletes, a network of coaches, alumni, vendors, and donorsWorking knowledge of Synergy and HudlRequired QualificationsBachelor 's degreeAcceptance into one of Bethel University's masters programsThe ideal candidate will have experience as a student-athlete, manager, and/or coach in a college volleyball programThe ability to exhibit professionalism and maintain confidentialityAbout Bethel UniversityThe mission of Bethel University, affiliated with the Missionary Church denomination, is to be a community of learners building lives of commitment for leadership in the Church and world.
