$6,488.00 - $12,152.00 per month (salary range). Three through four year contract as a Civil Engineer in the Department of Fish and Wildlife, headquartered in West Sacramento. Position Summary The Civil Engineer will use state‑of‑the‑art computer programs and surveying equipment to plan, design, prepare engineering calculations, details, and estimates for a variety of statewide civil engineering projects. Projects include buildings, roadways, grading, drainage, water supply, water disposal systems, and assessments of existing structures and infrastructure. Responsibilities Plan and design civil engineering projects, preparing calculations, details, and specifications. Negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders to produce drawings and estimates for construction and maintenance. Assess existing buildings and infrastructure to determine engineering requirements. Utilize surveying equipment and advanced computer programs to support project execution. Coordinate fieldwork and onsite activities as required. Qualifications Transfer eligible or able to take and pass the required civil service exam. Valid California driver’s license (necessary for statewide travel). Strong interpersonal, writing, computer, organizational, analytical, and oral presentation skills. Desirable: California Civil Engineer license. Hybrid‑remote model: up to two days per week in the office with a maximum of three days in the office at the West Sacramento field office.
