Ophthalmic Technician PositionSouth Georgia North Florida Eye Partners offers a variety of eye care services from detection and medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries to advanced procedures including Lasik and cataract surgeries. We also have an on-site Optical Shop that carries the latest in designer frames and sunglasses. We offer several locations including Tifton, Douglas and 2 locations in Valdosta Georgia.Position SummaryWe are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.ResponsibilitiesThis position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.Ophthalmic skills include:Obtaining and documenting patient historyDetermining visual acuityPerforming automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposesPerforming basic lensometryPupillary assessmentVisual field testingPAMBasic ocular motility assessmentAutomated keratometryOsmolarity testingAdministering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physicianPerforming office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR, providing patient servicesMeasurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)Pre-operative preparation of patientMaintaining equipment and instrumentsPerform ocular imaging including OCTTopographyPost-operative educationQualifications3-5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferredCOA preferredDependable transportation required to travel to other offices as requiredMust be flexible with traveling to various locationsAbility to pay attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentialityThe ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeableThe ability to recognize inconsistenciesEducation/Certifications:Graduation from an accredited high schoolCompany BenefitsWe offer a competitive benefits package to our employees:MedicalDentalVision401k w/ MatchHSA/FSATelemedicineGenerous PTO PackageWe also offer the following benefits for FREE:Employee Discounts and PerksEmployee Assistance ProgramGroup Life/AD&DShort Term Disability InsuranceLong Term Disability InsuranceEyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
