About the Position

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: 2 years of experience in specialty to be considered Description: Strict 75-mile radius rule is enforced. Candidates must send a driver's license with submissions. Charge nurse will take patients. Nurses are responsible for monitoring and reading their own telemetry. The common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and sepsis. The unit typically does not run high volume, usually less than 5 patients. This facility does not perform interventional catheterization procedures. The level of acuity is more akin to step-down care. There is no floating required; qualified staff can only float if credentialed. The pharmacy is not in-house 24/7 but is available during the daytime and after-hours help. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Holidays will be rotated in with permanent staff. Scrub color is hunter green pants with white tops and white jackets, or solid white. Shifts begin at either 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM. Nurses do not have aides to assist on the unit. An IV team is available Monday through Friday for difficult access needs. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. The facility keeps occasional surgical pediatric cases, such as pediatric cholecystectomy patients.
