Bring your passion for supporting young learners to a rewarding contract role as a Paraprofessional in a welcoming elementary school environment near Mercersburg, PA. Two positions are currently open to help provide one-on-one and classroom assistance, ensuring every student receives the attention and guidance they need to succeed. In this classroom-based PCA (Personal Care Assistant) role, you’ll support teachers and help students with daily activities, making an immediate and positive impact on their educational experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience as a paraprofessional, personal care assistant, or comparable educational support role preferred
- Ability to build rapport with elementary-aged children and work collaboratively with teaching staff
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient demeanor
- Adaptable, reliable, and able to respond quickly to changing classroom needs
- Available to start as soon as possible and commit to a 30-hour workweek
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, hands-on support to students in elementary classrooms
- Assist students with academic tasks, behavioral goals, and daily routines
- Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and individualized support strategies
- Monitor student progress and encourage participation in classroom activities
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
- Uphold school and district policies while maintaining confidentiality
