Experienced Comprehensive Ophthalmologist / Cataract Surgeon
South Florida Eye Institute is seeking a seasoned, high-volume comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon to join our established practice in Southeast Florida. The successful candidate must be capable of independently assuming a busy clinical and surgical schedule from the outset.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Board-certified ophthalmologist
- At least eight years of post-training clinical and surgical experience
- Demonstrated success managing a high-volume patient and surgical caseload
- Advanced cataract surgery expertise, including complex and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract procedures
- Experience performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS)
- Experience performing blepharoplasty, particularly functional upper-eyelid procedures
- Strong comprehensive ophthalmology skills and sound clinical judgment
- Consistently strong surgical outcomes and patient-satisfaction history
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and ability to collaborate with clinical staff
- Bilingual - English and Spanish
Medical retina experience is highly preferred but not required. Experience with premium IOLs, refractive cataract surgery, and cosmetic blepharoplasty is also desirable.

- Competitive compensation of $400,000–$500,000, depending on experience and qualifications
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced surgeon with the efficiency, versatility, and clinical confidence to assume significant responsibility immediately. It is not an entry-level position.
Qualified candidates should submit a CV and information regarding annual cataract volume, femtosecond laser and MIGS experience, blepharoplasty experience, medical retina capabilities, and recent surgical outcomes.
