Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Critical Care Float Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. Candidates must possess a strong background in ICU nursing, particularly at a Level 1 Trauma Center, and be willing to float to the Step-Down ICU as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice acts. Documents patient care according to established standards. Develops, initiates, and executes individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and/or hospital policies, including patient and family education. Participates in departmental or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Employs critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating issues through the appropriate chain of command as necessary. Shift Information Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Holiday Coverage: Required Qualifications Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in ICU Current IL Nursing License Certification in BLS/BCLS Certification in ACLS NIHSS Certification Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; verification of education is required.
