Registered Nurse - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Job Description The registered nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. Qualifications Required Qualifications: One year of pediatric inpatient oncology experience as a registered nurse Active registered nurse licensure in the State of California Active American Heart Association CPR certification Active American Heart Association PALS certification within six months of program start date APHON certification within 12 months of program start date This position requires flexibilityto orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Two (2) or more years of pediatric in-patient oncology or BMT experience as a registered nurse Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Active American Heart Association CPR certification Active American Heart Association PALS certification APHON certification Salary Information The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
