About the Department

The Oncology Unit is a 30-bed unit, with 24 private rooms , and maintains a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio . While oncology is the primary specialty, the unit also cares for patients undergoing bariatric, gynecological, and colorectal surgery . After six months, nurses have the opportunity to obtain their Chemo Certification , providing an opportunity to further develop their oncology knowledge and skills.

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and teaching for patients and families.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
• Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7pm - 730am, every other weekend and rotating holidays

SIGN ON BONUS: $7500.00

LOCATION: Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital

Qualifications

What You Will Need

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
