Herondale is an international investment platform focused on real estate, private equity, venture and special situations across the US, UK and other key markets.

We are expanding our venture secondaries platform, building on existing relationships with investors, shareholders, investment managers and advisers. Our team values judgment, rigor, speed and ownership, offering meaningful responsibility in a lean, founder-led environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Director to help lead our venture secondaries business, deepen existing relationships and manage opportunities from initial evaluation through execution.

The role combines investment judgment, relationship management and hands-on transaction execution, with a focus on late-stage venture-backed and growth companies. Working directly with leadership and our US and UK teams, you will build on our existing pipeline and execution framework while helping shape the platform’s long-term development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop existing investor and transaction relationships while expanding our network across venture funds, institutional investors, family offices, shareholders and advisers.
• Evaluate secondary opportunities, including valuation, capitalization, ownership structures, transaction terms and investment merits.
• Match opportunities with investor mandates and maintain a current understanding of market pricing, availability and demand.
• Lead transaction workstreams, coordinating counterparties, legal advisers and other execution partners.
• Maintain an organized pipeline with clear terms, relationship ownership, next steps and timely follow-up.
• Prepare concise opportunity summaries, investment materials and internal recommendations.
• Support selective co-investment and SPV opportunities alongside the broader investment team.
• Help develop the team, processes and institutional relationships needed to scale the business.

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience across venture secondaries, growth equity, venture capital, technology investment banking or private-market transactions.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing private investments or secondary transactions.
• Strong understanding of private-company valuations, capitalization and transaction structures.
• An established network relevant to venture-backed companies and private-market investors.
• Strong commercial judgment, analytical ability and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple live opportunities independently and work effectively across international teams.
• SIE, Series 63 and Series 82 qualifications required.

Preferred Experience

• Direct experience with late-stage venture secondaries and institutional investor coverage.
• Experience with cross-border transactions, co-investments and SPVs.
• Familiarity with AI, enterprise software, fintech, defense technology, aerospace or adjacent sectors.
• Experience building a business vertical, developing a team or improving transaction processes.
