Legal Associate

Conduct legal research and draft legal response documents Review legal documents including subpoenas, garnishments, levies, restraining orders, powers of attorney, guardianships, operating agreements, articles of incorporation, corporate resolutions, trusts, and estates Interpret legal language to determine document scope, jurisdiction, and applicable time frames Maintain proper subpoena servicing, meet due dates, and release only legally requested records Contact attorneys and agents regarding costs associated with responding to legal requests Maintain strict confidentiality under federal and state statutes Locate and prepare subpoenaed documents and coordinate garnishments, levies, child support payments, and estate actions Serve as the main contact for collections-related processes Identify and report delinquent accounts and communicate with external clients regarding outstanding accounts receivable Document collections activity, research account disputes or billing discrepancies, and perform reconciliations Complete data entry, maintain case files, track payments, process invoices and communications, and support billing and collections metrics Provide administrative support to line-of-business managers, supervisors, and support staff Complete assigned projects and reports, manage department tasks, provide project updates, and prepare and process documents and reports Manage service providers and vendors, establish expectations, develop performance metrics, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold vendors accountable Support retail and operations departments Perform clerical duties including opening and screening mail, organizing and maintaining files, responding to telephone inquiries, and scanning/faxing Help plan, organize, and coordinate events, including trainings Comply with applicable banking laws and regulations Perform other duties as required Requirements 3 to 5 years of experience in administrative or legal support is required Paralegal Certificate is required High School Diploma or equivalent is required Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required Experience in financial services or banking is preferred Notary Public is preferred Experience with EasyLender, Cleartouch, OnBase Nautilus, and various government and investor software/web portals is preferred Must comply with applicable banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, anti-money laundering statutes, and federal consumer protection legislation and regulations Necessary competencies: Resilience, Collaboration, Communication, Service Orientation, Quality Focused, Organizational Skills, Accountability Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing, pushing/pulling, using hands, and seeing, hearing, and speaking Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in legal research, document drafting, and compliance with banking laws and regulations.
