Early-stage fintech startup building advanced technology to modernize credit decisioning and risk assessment. The company develops data-driven products that help businesses better evaluate financial risk, automate underwriting processes, and improve access to credit through more accurate and transparent models.

The Role

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning models focused on credit risk and underwriting use cases.
• Own the full ML lifecycle, from data exploration and feature engineering to production deployment and monitoring.
• Work closely with product and engineering to translate business problems into scalable ML solutions.
• Improve model performance, stability, explainability, and compliance in a regulated environment.
• Operate with a high level of autonomy in a small, fast-moving startup team.

Desired Profile

• 4-5 years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist with strong deployment exposure.
• Mandatory expertise in credit risk modeling (PD, LGD, EAD, underwriting, scoring models).
• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience deploying models into production environments.
• Background in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (Master's preferred).
• Excellent communication skills, ownership mindset, and ability to thrive in a highly autonomous startup environment.
