CNC Lathe/Mill Setup & Production Machinist

Compensation: $26.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience)

A Day in This Role

You’ll arrive to a clean, organized work area, review the day’s job travelers and prints, load the right tooling, dial in offsets, and bring parts to life with consistent, repeatable accuracy. Throughout the shift, you’ll validate dimensions, adjust feeds and speeds, and keep machines running smoothly while upholding safety and quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Run and care for CNC lathes and mills, ensuring reliable, efficient operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to guide machining.
• Use precision measuring tools to confirm parts meet all specifications.
• Select the correct tooling, machine, and parameters for each assignment.
• Lay out the machining sequence and execute operations in the proper order.
• Continuously monitor production and fine-tune feeds, speeds, and settings.
• Maintain a tidy, safe workstation and follow established safety practices.
• Verify finished components for quality and conformance to requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and/or CNC mills.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical prints and drawings.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with Mazak Mazatrol controls is highly desirable.
• Background in fabrication is a plus.
• Welding experience or certifications are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with solid problem-solving abilities.

• Experience programming CNC equipment.
• Knowledge of machining best practices and tooling selection.
• Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team.
