Overview We are seeking a customer focused and collaborative Customer Service Clerk that will be responsible for performing basic accounting tasks and clerical work related to customer requests. (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Retirement) Tuition Reimbursement 100% Paid training Guaranteed fulltime hours No weekends Qualifications Must live in a one-hour radius of Topeka High school diploma or equivalent required Must be 18+ years of age Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role preferred Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen Must be able to work any shifts between the hours of 7am-5pm Monday – Friday, and be available to work overtime as needed Complete a 180-day probationary period Good social skills with a focus on customer satisfaction Ability to effectively communicate in a respectful and assertive manner Polished phone demeanor, tone and etiquette is required Ability to perform in a demanding and changing work environment Ability to multi-task, including interacting with customers while simultaneously documenting calls Maintain and promote a positive attitude while meeting productivity goals Comfortable working with computers and web-based applications Strong organization and time management Accurate typing Excellent verbal and written communication Possess skills to research and problem solve to resolution Ability to attend 100% of our paid training program, without absences Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance IBEW Union work position Responsibilities Coordinate and/or perform duties related to monitoring, researching, and/or resolving customer account issues and requests. Research and resolve Corporation Commission, Better Business Bureau, and other inquiries and complex problems related to customer accounts. Perform general office duties, electronic and paper database management, special projects, billing issues and account adjustments. Resolve service order exceptions, billing exceptions, meter inventory issues and meter reading exceptions in a timely manner as required by the Audit and Control Department. Compile, prepare, and/or verify correspondence, customer information, and reports including but not limited to adjustment memos, service orders, budgets, billing adjustments, account research & breakdowns, special project assignment, identity theft, bankruptcies, letters of credit (irrevocable and regular), trusts and power of attorney, surety bonds, customer accounting forms. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements This position is fast-paced. Ability to attend 100% of our paid training program, without absences. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
