Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical ICU float position, providing expert care to a diverse patient population including ventilated, post-op, and substance withdrawal cases. The role involves managing complex conditions such as multisystem organ failure and acute stroke, with a focus on critical patient monitoring and interventions.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and GI diagnoses, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  
  
• 
  Administer and titrate medications, including vasoactive and cardiac drips, following established protocols.
  
  
• 
  Manage invasive devices such as arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and chest tubes, ensuring patient safety and device functionality.
  
  
• 
  Monitor ventilated patients, including ventilator management, suctioning, and respiratory support therapies.
  
  
• 
  Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases, responding swiftly to emergent situations.
  
  
• 
  Follow infection prevention protocols and utilize PPE to maintain a safe environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid NY state RN license required in hand to submit.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, with recent proficiency in telemetry, neuro, or surgical intensive care units.
  
  
• 
  Strong knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation, multisystem organ failure management, and advanced airway support.
  
  
• 
  Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated experience with EPIC electronic charting system and critical care equipment.
