SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION SPECIALIST

Job Summary This position provides education and prevention programming for students in substance abuse, smoking cessation, mediation, family dynamics, peer pressure, decision making, anger management, diversity, and related topics within Prince William County Public Schools. The specialist must combine substance education and treatment methods with strong communication skills to support students, families, and schools. Responsibilities Provide education and prevention programming on substance‑abuse related topics. Assess students' needs and develop individualized support plans. Offer support to students and their families. Partner with external agencies to expand services. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality care. Report to the Supervisor of Student Assistance and Prevention Programs. Requirements An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
