Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a telemetry step-down unit requiring BLS, ACLS, and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• 26-bed unit with all private rooms, step-down from ICU
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1
• All patients on telemetry with heart monitors and critical drips
• Patient population includes GI bleed, COVID, and respiratory distress cases
• 3x12 night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across admission, transfer, and discharge
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Facilitate patient and family education and discharge planning in coordination with case management
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius, though local candidates are accepted at a lower pay rate
