Inventory Control Coordinator - Advanced

Position Summary This position is responsible for coordinating numerous complex aspects of daily operations of the Institution warehouse (including food storage) and Canteen. Duties of the position include researching requests for new products, developing specifications and requesting bids, utilizing the internet to research and source best priced options, creating purchase orders to maintain warehouse inventory levels, maintaining the computerized inventory management system, and monitoring ordering patterns and reviewing justification for significant increases in supply requests. The ICC-Adv is also responsible for removing surplus items and posting them online. This position independently performs a variety of complex activities within a unique work environment, comparable to a large and diversified warehouse distribution facility. In addition to performing warehouse operations, the ICC-Adv oversees all aspects of the resident canteen program that serves persons in our care, including working directly with the vendor to troubleshoot product and order-fulfillment issues, adding and removing items from the general canteen menu, directing the flow of resident orders throughout the institution, processing refunds for missing or sub-standard items received. While performing these duties, the ICC-Adv will also direct, train and supervise resident workers and unit staff for product distribution. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 03-11 with a starting pay of $20.97/hour . Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt. Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM. This position has physical requirements related to performing the job duties that involve being able to move and lift freely up to 75 lbs. to perform necessary warehouse tasks, including climbing ladders and stairs. This position also operates heavy machinery and must be capable of operating a 24,000-pound capacity straight truck (Including, but not limited to, backing up to a dock). The employee in this position must also have the ability to work up to 16 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week on any shift based on daily operational needs. This may include weekends, holidays, and on-call hours. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events. Qualifications The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the letter of qualifications and resume: Minimally Qualified Applicants Will Have Experience conducting inventory/warehouse processes, including receiving and issuing stock, reviewing inventory, etc. Experience conducting purchasing processes (such as: contacting suppliers for availability, submitting purchase requests, contract/specific supplier usage, procurement card purchasing, etc.) Experience utilizing computer-based inventory systems.
