Trauma Data Lead

Job Description

Summary/Objective Act as a liaison between Omega and Client to ensure Client productivity goals are met, facilitate process issues that arise, be the point-of-contact for field employee questions related to systems, processes and/or trauma data, and escalate any quality or productivity issues to Omega. The Trauma Data Lead must maintain his/her productivity and quality standards in accordance with Client expectations, or as defined by Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with new hire orientation and training inclusive of Client-specific information.
  • Assist with system problems by answering field employee questions or directing questions to the appropriate party.
  • Manage workflow and productivity, as requested.
  • Perform trauma data functions, as necessary.
  • Communicate with the designated point-of-contact(s) at Omega and Client; provide information on progress, actions, and issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality reviews utilizing Omega's review/audit tools, as needed, under the oversight of an Omega Trauma Data Manager.
  • Perform duties in compliance with Company's policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to HIPAA and compliance.
  • Maintains a knowledge base of ICD-10, AIS 2015 Coding. ACS National Trauma Data Standards

  • Knowledge of ACS trauma verification, review, and consultation program and its management, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, National Trauma Database inclusion criteria, trauma data abstracting, database record management, trauma program management, and trauma data procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to self-motivate, set goals, and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of NTDB, standard compliance and HIPAA HITECH standards affecting medical records and the impact on reimbursement and accreditation

Work Environment

This job operates in a remote home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel

Minimal travel required; up to 5%

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in health science or related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year registry or other health-related experience acting in a lead capacity or three years of experience at an ACS designated or University setting.
  • American Trauma Society Trauma Registrar Course Completion.
  • Certified Trauma Registrar required.
  • Maintains ICD10 education every 5 years
  • Maintains 24hrs. of CEU each year

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must have the following certificates and/or licenses: CAISS or CSTR
