2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Primary Job Title: Chronic Registered Nurse Alternate/Related Job Titles: Hemodialysis RN Dialysis Nurse - Chronic Care Renal Registered Nurse Outpatient Dialysis RN Nephrology Nurse - RN Location: Indianapolis, IN Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details: Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 3 months Start: 09/15/2025 End: 12/14/2025 Job Summary: The Chronic Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering clinically competent care to an assigned group of patients undergoing chronic dialysis. As a vital part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) care team, this role includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment while supporting and supervising patient care technicians and licensed staff in a collaborative care environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments pre-, during-, and post-dialysis; modify treatment plans as needed. Provide patient and family education on treatment and self-care. Supervise and delegate responsibilities to PCTs, LPNs/LVNs, and RNs as Team Leader or Charge Nurse. Document patient data, interventions, and responses in medical records. Administer prescribed medications and assess effectiveness. Participate in emergency response protocols, including CPR. Support laboratory collection and shipping compliance. Educate patients on transplant options and modality choices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff onboarding. Required Experience: 1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience as an RN within the past 2 years 3 months of chronic/acute hemodialysis experience as an RN 9+ months of experience as a practicing RN Nice-to-Have Experience: Previous leadership in a clinical dialysis setting Familiarity with interdisciplinary care planning Required Skills: Licensed RN in the state of Indiana Current CPR BLS certification Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Preferred Skills: Strong documentation and assessment abilities Team leadership and supervision skills Crisis response and emergency care Knowledge of dialysis equipment and safety procedures Additional Skills: Must meet the physical demands of lifting/moving patients and heavy equipment Comfortable in a hospital environment with infection control measures Ability to stand for long periods and bend repeatedly Ishihara Color Blindness Test required (reasonable accommodations considered) About GTT: GTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
