Reporting This position reports directly to the Service Manager of the branch located in Chesapeake, VA. Experience and Training No prior experience in pest control is required. Sales experience is a plus but not required. We will provide comprehensive classroom and field training to ensure you feel capable and confident to excel in your position. If you’ve got a strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills, we will provide every resource necessary to succeed. Purpose of the Position This position is focused on the organization’s main goal for sustainability, which is selling new services and re‑selling the value of existing clientele. Through inspections, estimates, new sales, and service itself, these individuals influence customer attrition and new customer growth. Duties and Responsibilities Regular interaction with customers to troubleshoot problems and communicate the details of the service Work outdoors for most of the day Lift at least 50 lbs Be able to crawl/kneel and/or fit in tight spaces Apply liquid treatments to the soil Perform some drilling, trenching, and basic cleanup after a job Data entry and documentation into mobile devices for services performed Be flexible to work Monday‑Saturday during the summer season Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Excellent communication skills Attention to detail Ability to read and understand simple documents regarding safety, regulatory or protocol standards Basic mathematical skills A talent for solving practical problems and effective reasoning Take and pass a series of exams as part of a New Hire Training Clean driving record Pass a background check Pass a drug screen Certifications and Licensing All candidates must either have an existing license/certification or acquire one with company training assistance. Relationships and Supervision This position will be trained by Insight’s online University Program, monitored by the Service Manager and Lead Technician, with ongoing support and supervision. This position is expected to ensure the quality of all customer relations in a courteous, respectful, and friendly manner to guarantee continuous improvement of services. Employees working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits. Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment. After a full year of service, employees receive five days of paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay for observed holidays such as New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Insight provides a company vehicle, maintenance, gas cards, and toll coverage for technicians. Performance Review Period Seasonal review – the review period ends at the close of the summer.
