Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) position. The ideal candidate will possess strong telemetry experience and be adept in managing various cardiac drips. This position involves working nights with a schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the IMCU setting.
• Monitor patient conditions and implement appropriate care plans.
• Manage telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Administer medications as per protocols, including cardiac drips.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
• Participate in rapid response team activations when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety and isolation protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Units.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.
• Telemetry experience is mandatory.
• Familiarity with managing cardiac drips such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Nicardipine.
• ACCLS certification and experience with conscious sedation are preferred.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in computerized documentation using Epic.

Unit Details

The IMCU provides care to a diverse patient population, managing conditions such as acute and chronic respiratory failure, sepsis, and heart failure. The unit is recognized for its exceptional patient care and collaboration among healthcare disciplines.

Scheduling and Floating Requirements

• Shifts: 3x12-hour nights with every other weekend required.
• Floating to other units, including West Valley Hospital, may be necessary.
• Travelers are expected to float to meet facility needs as required.

This position is located in Salem, OR.

Patient Care Environment

The IMCU is a level II trauma center equipped to handle a wide range of medical conditions. Nurses will provide comprehensive care while working with multiple healthcare disciplines to ensure patients receive holistic support throughout their hospital stay.
