Automation Assembly Technician

As an Automation Assembly Technician, you will build and troubleshoot automated assembly machines, sub-assemblies, and electrical components based on engineering blueprints and specifications. Your role will involve debugging machines and processes for new machines, performing machine alignments, and conducting final set-ups. You will also participate in the planning and design of high-speed, precision machinery.

Responsibilities

• Build and troubleshoot automated assembly machines, sub-assemblies, and electrical components.
• Debug new machines and processes.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience in automation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and controls systems.
• Experience with manual lathe and mill operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building automatic assembly equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of basic machine shop tools.
• Associate's degree, specialized education, or vocational-technical training in a mechanical field or crafts trade is preferred.

Work Environment

The work schedule offers flexibility with two shifts available: 1st Shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (1 opening) and 2nd Shift from Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm (2 openings).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vermillion, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
