Senior intellectual property counsel position at Danaher's diagnostics division, responsible for patent prosecution, trademark management, and freedom-to-operate analysis. Reports to Chief IP Counsel in a remote role supporting product innovation and competitive IP strategy.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with R&D teams to identify IP opportunities and develop protection strategies
Prepare, prosecute, and manage patent applications with infringement and validity analysis
Monitor third-party patent activity and assess competitive positioning
Review and manage open-source software licenses and security compliance
Manage trademark portfolio including filings, prosecution, renewals, and enforcement

Requirements

Juris Doctor from accredited U.S. law school with strong academic record
Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Admission to practice before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
8+ years IP legal experience including patent prosecution and IP agreement drafting
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related technical field preferred
Experience in medical diagnostics or life sciences preferred

Compensation: $220,000-$250,000 USD base, eligible for bonus/incentive pay
