Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• 304-bed acute care hospital setting
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• On-call is required but rare; if called, on-call is for the first 4 hours only
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required based on facility needs
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and non-invasive respiratory management
• Additional clinical skills include wound care, isolation precautions, feeding tube management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• Pre-assignment online modules must be completed prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Parking is available at no cost; a parking pass is provided at badge pickup — note that garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO requests submitted after that point will not be approved
• Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September
