Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor Objective

Under moderate supervision, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising sizing, sorting, shelling, roasting, packaging, sanitation, shipping and receiving activities in a manner that meets all requirements (quality, documentation, safety, etc.). Through coordinated efforts with Quality Control, the position is responsible for assuring that the semi finished product is accurately produced and for assuring the finished goods are correctly produced along with required documentation. Level of Supervision Required: Moderate Supervisory Responsibilities: Roasting and ECS Operators, Sorters, Packaging, Cleanup, Fork Truck Operators, Silo Unloaders, Receiving & Shipping Clerks and other Production Employees as necessary.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs ECS operation and sorting for in shell and kernel production.
• Confirm that pistachios are graded and certified in accordance to USDA and grades, by understanding the specification and how to accurately determine grade and ounce count.
• Proficient in running reports to view and select inventory.
• Create and select correct product(s) for utilization with guidance from Managers.
• Direct forklift drivers on use of product and product warehousing.
• Maintain accurate records of WIP inventory.
• Manages that roasting operations are operating within proper parameters.
• Generate Work Orders in packaging and reconcile production.
• Checks that all graded and certified product matches orders or production and packaging runs.
• Ensures case / box / super sack markings are correct.
• Verifies correct quantities and sizes of product for packaging runs or orders.
• Understand the fundamentals of HACCP and BRC.
• Trains production personnel on the proper procedures.
• Communicate company goals and objectives to plant personnel.
• Effectively communicate with other supervisors by direct contact, emails, meetings and other written communications.
• Assist with internal Quality and Safety audits.
• Evaluates trailers for unfit product storage conditions if needed.
• Counsel, coaches and disciplines employees for performance and / or violations of company policies.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 Per Year
