CNA Support Position

CNA or Medical Assistant Certification is required. Current State of Michigan Licensure. Must be at least 18 years old. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. Mental and physical ability to perform assigned job duties; must pass a physical examination including drug test. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance to the job is an essential function.

Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:

• Health procedure training e.g diastat, feeding tube, catheter, diabetic care/monitoring.
• Ability to move or transport a minimum of 75 pounds.
• Use appropriate communication, display a courteous and caring attitude in dealing with students, parents, and other employees.
• Attends any required training and in-services.
• Attendance to the job is required.
• Lifting above the head is required.
• Performs such other duties and/or functions as assigned and/or deemed necessary by the nature of the work assignments.

Other skills and abilities:

• Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students.
• Ability to physically manage students and equipment.
• Able to observe unusual student behavior and advise supervisor.

Physical demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and kneel on hard surfaces and is occasionally required to walk or stand.
• The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job.
• The employee frequently will reach above the head and forward.
• The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp equipment or students.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds such as students or students in wheelchairs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
