UnityPoint Clinic is a physician‑led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk‑in care and specialty care. Buena Vista Regional Medical Center is a critical access hospital that serves 25,000 people. Annually they deliver around 350 babies, perform 3,000 surgeries, and have 57,000 outpatient visits.

• Opportunity to provide full‑spectrum family medicine services to a diverse population in a rural community
• Two established UnityPoint primary care practices in Storm Lake: Buena Vista Clinic & Family Health Center
• Cohesive group of Family Medicine, Family Medicine with OB, and Internal Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practitioners
• Experienced staff, both clinical and non‑clinical who know the patients extremely well
• Array of services and visiting specialists to serve patients in the community
• Full‑time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

• Average of 20‑25 patients per day
• Clinic Open: Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p
• General family medicine procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, casting, etc.
• Provide prenatal/postpartum care and perform deliveries; cesarean sections optional
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient‑focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
• Complete an obstetrics fellowship or meet hospital criteria to perform cesareans
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of State
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1‑B cap exempt)
• J‑1 waiver sponsorship available
• ACLS, NRP, ALSO required if practicing obstetrics
