CB Mining is an independent family-owned corporation that is growing. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Washington, PA, CB Mining focuses on product support for Longwall mines. Established from part of the Caterpillar mining group, CB Mining has grown from 2 locations in Washington, PA to now 4 locations, with additions in Marion, IL and Tuscaloosa, AL. We provide customers with rebuild services, CST gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrications services, service exchange units, custom made cabling solutions, life cycle services including oil sampling and vibration analysis, robust inventory support, compatibility services and underground technical support. We also provide extensive machining, chroming, laser cladding, and hydraulic repairs through our valued partner Cleveland Brothers. Primary Responsibilities:

• The level I gearbox technician will perform disassembly and assembly of geared products along with the setup, testing, and configuration of this equipment.
• Maintains documentation on rebuild processes to comply with organization and regulatory standards.
• Maintains clean manufacturing areas, equipment, and materials.
• Assemble mechanical components of gear-driven equipment produced for the mining industry in accordance with Company and MSHA guidelines.
• Basic disassembly and cleaning:
• Ability to work off of verbal and written instructions
• Safely remove motors, tunnel housings, fluid couplings, and prep equipment for cleaning and rebuild
• Ability to operate or learn to operate overhead crane, forklift, and Bobcat
• Use hand and pneumatic tools and hand torch
• Disassemble equipment working with tech I or II, or with supervisor
• Thoroughly clean and prep parts for assembly
• Paint equipment and prep for shipping
• Basic assembly:
• Read Prints for disassembly, inspection and assembly
• Basic understanding of hydraulics and electro hydraulics along with the ability to read schematics/diagrams
• Capable of understanding and performing all that is required to remanufacture components and perform final testing
• Ability to perform basic trouble shooting (hydraulic, electronic sensors, mechanical)
• Understand Math- (Arithmetic, basic Trigonometry, decimal conversion)
• Ability to use various types of precision measuring tools

Degrees or Other Special Requirements: Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• Qualification to operate fork trucks/tow motors is required.
• Familiarity with overhead cranes is preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a mechanical field is preferred.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or trade school is preferred.

About Us: Founded in 2013, CB Mining is a family-owned company that was divested from Caterpillar. It started with 89 employees and 1 location, that historically focused on customer support, underground Technical Service Reps, Longwall AFC, BSL, and Crusher rebuilds. Today we have 2 locations in Washington, PA, Marion, IL, and Tuscaloosa, AL where we continue the legacy on superb customer support for both Longwall and R &P underground mining.
