What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Environmental Consultant with 3–5 years of environmental permitting experience to join our growing environmental team. The successful candidate will support a range of industrial, infrastructure, waste, energy, and development projects by managing environmental permitting applications, regulatory compliance, and client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional looking to develop their career within a collaborative and technically focused consultancy.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and manage environmental permit applications, variations and supporting documentation in line with current environmental legislation.
• Work directly with the Environment Agency, statutory authorities and other regulators throughout the permitting process.
• Carry out environmental assessments and technical reviews to support permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Advise clients on environmental compliance, permitting strategies and regulatory best practice.
• Produce clear, high-quality technical reports, compliance documentation and permit variation applications. Support environmental due diligence, compliance reviews and regulatory audits where required.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard.
• Keep up to date with changes in environmental legislation and translate these into practical guidance for clients and colleagues.
• Build strong client relationships and support business development, proposals and new project opportunities.

Who You Are

• Degree-qualified in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Bring around 3–5 years' experience within environmental consultancy, with a strong focus on environmental permitting.
• Have hands-on experience preparing environmental permit applications and liaising with environmental regulators.
• Have a solid understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Confident preparing technical reports and communicating complex environmental requirements in a clear, practical way.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
• A confident communicator who enjoys working with clients, regulators and wider project teams.
• Ideally have experience within waste, industrial emissions, water or energy permitting.
• Experience with EIA, environmental management systems, GIS or environmental modelling would be an advantage.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, or progress towards Chartership, would also be welcomed.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling to sites when required.
