The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast is to ensure every child has mentors and champions in life.

The Innovation Coordinator serves as an operational partner within the Innovation Department and is responsible for coordinating the systems, resources, technology, documentation, and logistics that enable high-quality innovation initiatives across Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast.

Working closely with the Director of Innovation, Club leadership, internal departments, and external partners, this role ensures innovation projects are organized, properly resourced, and consistently implemented. The Innovation Coordinator supports Spark Spaces and other strategic initiatives by maintaining project plans, coordinating technology and equipment, organizing implementation resources, and supporting effective communication and follow-through.

Success is measured not only by the completion of assigned tasks, but by the Coordinator's ability to build reliable systems, protect and optimize organizational investments, anticipate operational needs, and help transform innovative ideas into engaging learning experiences for youth.

Commitment to safety includes contributing to an environment of safety, promoting accountability to safety, obtaining and maintaining mandated reporter training, and completing required training and participating in all emergency preparedness protocols.

Responsibilities include innovation implementation & project coordination, operations, resource management & team support, documentation & knowledge management, pilot support & continuous improvement, and cross-functional & partner support.

Required skills & qualifications include relevant education, training, or professional experience, minimum of two years of experience supporting projects, programs, operations, or organizational initiatives, strong organizational, project coordination, and time-management skills, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, ability to organize information, maintain accurate records, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based collaboration tools, experience creating professional documents, presentations, implementation guides, or resource materials preferred, comfort learning and utilizing technology systems to support organizational operations, ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, must report suspected child abuse in accordance with California law, must be authorized to work in the United States, CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or facilitated upon hire, and valid TB clearance in accordance with organizational requirements.

Key success indicators include maintaining organized, reliable, and accessible innovation systems and resources, coordinating project activities, deadlines, meetings, and follow-up accurately and on time, ensuring technology, equipment, instructional materials, and supplies are available and ready for implementation, maintaining accurate inventory, project documentation, and operational records, developing clear, useful implementation tools, guides, presentations, and training resources, providing timely communication and responsive support to Club teams, partners, vendors, and technology providers, supporting successful pilots and helping transition effective initiatives into broader implementation, identifying risks and operational needs early and communicating them appropriately, building strong working relationships across departments and partner organizations, protecting, prolonging, and optimizing organizational investments in innovation resources, and contributing to consistent, engaging, and high-quality learning experiences for youth.

Physical requirements may include the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds. The role may also require transporting, setting up, and organizing technology, equipment, supplies, and instructional materials at Club sites and partner locations.
