Job Overview Weis Markets, located at 7801 Glenlivet West Drive, is hiring a Front End Associate. Responsibilities Smiles and greets customers, answers their questions, and resolves concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. Follows company policies relating to customer checkout to increase satisfaction. Identifies and shops customer orders timely to ensure an accurate and fresh order. Operates front‑end scanning equipment and registers, performs checkout procedures, bags merchandise efficiently, and places items in customers’ carts. Contacts customers by phone to address any questions or concerns. Operates console and picker devices to ensure accuracy. Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions. Maintains accuracy during the transaction, ensuring customers are charged correctly for all items and appropriate funds are collected (cash, checks, electronic payment, coupons). Maintains proper security measures and cash‑drawer accounting procedures to avoid overages and shortages. Follows all store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of tobacco and alcohol. Responsible for general sanitation in the department: follows cleaning schedules, maintains equipment, counters, display cases, and ensures compliance with health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly. Ensures smooth functioning of the department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and superiors. Continuously improves job performance. Utilizes all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment, including cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc. May be called upon to assist in other departments. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities for this position. Qualifications Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required.
