Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Salary: $220,000 - 280,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 7+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or backend engineering, with a strong record of building and operating complex ML models in high-volume production settings.
• We need 3+ years of technical leadership experience, including ownership of architecture decisions for consumer-facing products or scalable backend platforms.
• We need hands-on experience with real-time data systems, including streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Pub/Sub, and low-latency inference services under 100ms.
• We need deep MLOps expertise across the full ML lifecycle, using platforms such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Databricks, or SageMaker.
• We need advanced Python and SQL skills; experience in Go, C++, or Rust is a strong advantage for performance-critical inference services.
• We need extensive cloud-native experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Functions, GKE, and Vertex AI, or comparable AWS services.
• We must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S., as we are unable to sponsor or transfer work visa sponsorship at this time.

• We will lead the design and implementation of scalable machine learning infrastructure, turning exploratory data science models into resilient production services.
• We will build and optimize low-latency real-time inference systems that support rapid decisions across our sports betting and daily fantasy products.
• We will collaborate with Data Science to create scalable logging, data pipelines, and a centralized feature store that supports model training across multiple business areas.
• We will drive end-to-end MLOps practices, including deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, automated retraining, and observability to detect data drift and model degradation quickly.
• We will influence core platform outcomes such as Time-to-Bet, Deposit Velocity, and Platform Integrity by integrating robust machine learning capabilities.
