Occupational Therapist

Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts.

This is a 13-week contract position.

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises occupational therapy treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. Responsibilities

• Assess patient's level of functioning and develop appropriate treatment plans based on physician orders and assessments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning.
• Complete necessary documentation according to department policies and procedures, including daily progress notes.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, ensuring effective training in the application of occupational therapy techniques.
• Demonstrate safety awareness in all aspects of work, promoting patient and employee safety.
• Communicate effectively with patients and family members, providing education on adaptive equipment.
• Maintain flexibility and cooperation in scheduling patients and resolving conflicts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid, current state license to practice occupational therapy.
• BLS certification is required prior to the first shift.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field is required.
