Description

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain welding machines, forklifts, crawler cranes, wire feeders, and hand tools.
  • Enter and work in confined spaces.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Repair and overhaul of large and small machinery.
  • Building maintenance.
  • Maintain and repair painting/blasting equipment.
  • Maintain and repair company trailers.
  • Connect shore power to vessels.
  • Maintain reports for all the above.
  • Ascend and work at heights of up to 40 feet.

Critical Demands

  • Balance and strength to climb 40 ft. ladder.
  • Repetitive forward bending, rotation of the trunk, and flexing of the hips and the knees.
  • Lifting no greater than 50 lbs. from floor to 6 ft. work surface unassisted.
  • Repetitive upper extremity movements while measuring, fitting, and welding.

Working Conditions

  • Work is outdoors or in an open warehouse. There is no air conditioning or heating.
  • Uneven surfaces throughout job site, with sand, limestone, concrete, and railways outside, as well as concrete and railways inside. Numerous trip hazards throughout.
Qualifications
Education

High School or better.

Experience
Required

2 years: Electrical Experience

Preferred

Shipyard Experience preferred
