Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Candidate must have 2 years of experience in specialty and 1 travel contract. Strict 75-mile radius rule enforced. Description: The Emergency Room has 12 beds, including 2 trauma bays. Care for an average of 70 patients per day. There is 1 seclusion room available. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. There is a charge nurse on duty who does not take patients. Each shift has 1 paramedic, typically responsible for the clinic and responding to trauma or code situations. ER techs are available, with a goal of having at least 1 per shift. Nurse externs are also present, aiding in patient care. Patient sitters will be used for psychological holds during 1-on-1 observation. Staff rotate holiday shifts with permanent staff. Scrub color is hunter green pants with a white top and jacket. Trauma cases will be stabilized and transferred via air evacuation when necessary. Patients range from neonates to geriatrics, with conditions varying from minor walk-ins to traumatic injuries. The robust pharmacy is available during daytime hours, with additional support provided overnight. Lab draws can be performed by nurses, and a lab team is available for assistance. The respiratory team is available 24/7. All shifts are staggered to ensure full coverage. Float staff is not utilized, and floor-specific orientation is provided. This position requires a rotation every other weekend.
