Help us save lives and make a difference.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do:The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses individuals and documents pertinent information including Triage, Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and/or Substance Abuse issues. Demonstrates knowledge of Crisis Intervention and the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations and will provide education to individuals and their families regarding Behavioral Health diagnosis, medications, and treatments.Completes detailed Nursing Assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health assessments and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools. Accurately record all medication brought in by individual on medication reconciliation/storage form.Plans individual treatment as part of the Multidisciplinary Clinical team.Provides education concerning psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual's care.Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors. Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities.Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards, guidelines, techniques; initiate documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required.Provide daily programming/groups.Complete all required training, attend monthly meetings, and maintain required competencies.Complete nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility.Accurately transcribes Provider orders and administers medications as prescribed. Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form. Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed. Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by Providers when required.Performs all other duties as assigned.QualificationsWhat You'll Bring:Graduated from an accredited Nursing programUnrestricted active license as Registered Professional Nurse through the Virginia State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilegeMust be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniquesWorking on ASAM 3.7 unit, the RN shall have competencies and experience in conducting an alcohol or other drug focused nursing assessmentState of Virginia Fingerprint ClearanceMust be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background checkMust be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry SearchThe Company has a mandatory vaccination policy.
