SPT II - Sterile Processing Technician
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift, block scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM.
The SPT II - Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the assembly and sterilization of surgical instrument trays within the Cardiac, Orthopedic, and Neurological specialties. The technician will ensure proper aseptic techniques and adherence to sterilization protocols while contributing to patient safety and care standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble surgical instrument trays for Cardiac, Ortho, and Neuro cases with proficiency.
- Utilize Steris V-Pro and SPM equipment for sterilization processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and labeling of instruments and trays.
- Participate in decontamination processes and support the Laurel campus as required.
- Adhere to safety and compliance standards, including biological and chemical indicators.
- Provide availability for holidays and weekend shifts as a part of the block schedule.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- 2 years of experience in a Sterile Processing Technician role.
- Certification required: either CBSPD or IAHCSMM/SPA.
- BLS certification preferred.
- Experience in hospital settings preferred.
