Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically strong Senior Accountant to support general accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where data is not always readily available-you will be expected to dig in, connect the dots, research discrepancies, and develop solutions. This position requires strong Excel expertise, solid accounting knowledge, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc accounting analyses
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Partner cross-functionally to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger activities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Advanced Excel expertise - modeling, data manipulation, pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar preferred
• Naturally curious with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter who takes initiative without needing significant direction
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Comfortable researching issues, working through ambiguity, and building processes from scratch
