Job Overview Position: Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Location: Bossier City, LA, USA Hours: Open availability. Required to accept any shift between the following hours: Tuesday–Thursday: 8:30AM – 8:30PM Friday: 5:30AM – 7:30PM Saturday: 6:30AM – 4:30PM Sunday: 7:30AM – 4:30PM Employment Type: Full Time, Regular, Exempt. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reaction(s) in accordance with SOPs, and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support HepatitisB and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance for employee incidents. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provide center‑level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) concerns. Maintain familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits & Compensation Hourly Wage: $23.04–$31.68 (actual wage offered depends on qualifications, experience, and location).
