We are looking for an experienced, collaborative, and adaptable Senior Product Designer who is passionate about understanding user needs and pain points to join the User Experience (UX) team. The UX Team crafts effortless mobile, web and desktop experiences that are grounded in empathy and informed by insights and thoughtful planning. We are a multi-disciplinary group of professionals with expertise in Design, Content Strategy and Research. We collaborate across the enterprise to build exceptional digital experiences for millions of clients. As part of the UX Team, you will design for trading experiences across both web and mobile. Your work will appear on Schwab.com and our highly ranked mobile apps for both iOS and Android. You will help craft next generation experiences that will lead in the Fintech space. As a Senior Product Designer (individual contributor), you are responsible for: Product design and execution: Bring products to life through collaboration across the enterprise, designing solutions that delight and satisfy our clients and meet business needs Influence product design efforts from early discovery to final delivery Design interactions across desktop, mobile web and native mobile experiences, using product context Align visual design approach for products, including how aspects like layout, color, spacing and typography impact how the user will interact with the system and how the system should respond Work within and potentially contribute to a design system with full understanding of the overarching structure and implementation methods for patterns and components Understand that the tiniest detail can make all the difference in designing a great product, with focused attention on meeting product requirements, providing consistent and error-free experiences aligned to brand identity, and ensuring every aspect of the design is accessible and inclusive Experience consulting: Create solutions together with a cross-functional Agile team, considering how digital, physical, and service channels work together Use problem definition techniques and data to drive project requirements Facilitate ideation efforts with a focus on the problem to solve, creating a conversation of "how might we" Lead reviews and drive decision-making Raise potential roadblocks to team or project leads and collaboratively identify how to remove blockers Maintain the high standards set by the group, including channel standards, content standards and the Charles Schwab design system Team leadership: Lead projects across UX disciplines to create seamless experiences Work with others on team to estimate project completion based on task completion estimates resource availability Foresee potential roadblocks and raise to project leads Teamwork, collaboration, and engagement: Passionately solutions-focused and optimistic about team, our mission and the needs of our partners and users Partner across disciplines and functions Build relationships by creating trust with partners through setting expectations on process/deliverables Actively seek and use ideas and feedback to strategically guide delivery Make others feel comfortable by conveying interest in their feedback/viewpoint, anticipating reactions and responding attentively to their ideas and concerns Raise your hand to help others and proactively take time to work with teammates to support/guide activities and craft Your approach: Use various communication techniques to showcase work and persuade through rationale and storytelling Propose solutions that benefit all parties and craft arguments to support position Have a design position and be open and flexible to adjustment if new information is presented Work within an undefined space to define potential paths forward through problem definition and design thinking Recognize challenges are part of the process and collaboratively find root causes to determine next steps and new directions Why your work matters: You will support an engaged set of users who rely on our products to manage their financial lives By understanding the user needs you will be able to impact how our users do business with Schwab You will learn how to balance functionality against complexity on a highly visible platform which serves millions of advisors and retail customers You will work with an engaged design team that fosters a learning environment What you have *How to successfully apply: Please provide a link to an online portfolio of your relevant work, showing process and design thinking - make sure to include any passwords required Required Qualifications: 6 + years of product design experience, focused on digital products or equivalent 1+ year of product design experience for touch-based mobile interface A background with financial applications; experience with brokerage platforms Expertise designing for data intensive applications Experience with all aspects of a user-centered design process, including user research, developing user flows, creating wireframes, and creating content specifications Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team within an iterative process and an Agile development methodology Experience with accessible design and accessibility testing for solutions Proficient in design tools such as Figma Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications: Strong self-management skills, comfortable with substantial responsibility, working directly with our client partners, and capable of managing your project schedules Effective relationship builder with an ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types Comfortable in a project-driven work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
