City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.**Sign on Bonus Eligible $5,000**The successful candidate:Must be able to work 3 12's, 7:00p-7:30a, night shift differential is 18% for 12 hour shiftsCollaborates with Physicians to evaluate patient readiness for change in level of care.Responsible for the assessment, treatment care and education of patients. Cares for ICU, Medical Surgical, and telemetry patients as necessary.Ability to conduct risk assessment, prevention and treatment of pressure injuryAbility to interpret and operate cardiac and other invasive and noninvasive monitors, recognize normal/abnormal rhythms/trends, and institute appropriate interventions.Care for patients with complex needs including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.Initiate and maintain complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters & arterial lines.Safe use of less invasive, life supporting modalities i.e. BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure- based CO/CI & SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitors.Ability to care for patients with IV lines, arterial lines, central lines, ports, chest tubes, pleural catheters, tracheostomy tubes and endotracheal tubes.Maintenance and care of patients with an ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy.Care for, assess and monitor patients with Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and epidural catheters.Demonstrates basic knowledge of chemotherapeutic/immunotherapeutic agents.QualificationsYour qualifications should include:1 year experience in ICU/InpatientAssociate Degree in Nursing or equivalentArizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact StateBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification-an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, employees will have (30) days from the date of hire to acquire attend an onsite initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification-employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years.
