Senior Cost Manager

Job Summary Senior Cost Manager, Project Controls – JLL As a Senior Cost Manager, Project Controls at JLL, you will deliver cost control and project accounting services for varied clients across office, cultural, hospitality, healthcare, life sciences, education, and mixed‑use projects, including both new build and renovation work. Responsibilities Partner with team members to execute complex projects through all phases while leading project teams and client interactions. Prepare detailed and accurate construction and project cost estimates from conceptual design to final construction documents. Provide value engineering services and design option reviews, conduct bid analysis, and participate in reconciliations with contractors and subcontractors. Review change orders, support change management, and assess scope impact. Develop risk mitigation strategies, monitor implementation, and coordinate with stakeholders to gather data. Analyze project documentation to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices related to project controls and contribute to strategic client initiatives. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as an Estimator, Cost Manager, or similar role. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferred in Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management). Strong communication skills to present analyzed data to clients and teams. Proficient in architectural drawings and planning concepts. Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Ability to generate AACE Level 1‑5 cost evaluations, work conceptually, and qualify unknowns. Expertise in estimating software and benchmarking tools. Collaborative, independent work style with ability to handle ambiguity. Leadership experience in cost management and project controls. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cost‑X, On‑Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating software. Professional certification in project management (AACE, RICS). Intermediate to expert level in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Smartsheet. Expert understanding of building systems (MEPFS and architectural). Familiarity with procurement and tendering processes. Knowledge of value engineering principles and risk management strategies.
