Duties

• Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drive axles, ensuring vehicles operate smoothly and efficiently.
• Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and steering component replacements to optimize handling and safety.
• Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues within automotive electrical systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair tools to execute repairs with precision.
• Communicate effectively with customers about repair needs, estimated timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer service experience.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics, and electrical systems interpretation.
• Skilled in vehicle maintenance procedures across various models, including GM vehicles when applicable.
• Mechanical proficiency with a solid understanding of powertrain, transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, and vehicle systems overall.
• Experience in vehicle transmission system repair, alignment services, and diesel engine repairs.
• Ability to read automotive wiring diagrams accurately and apply technical proficiency in complex diagnostics.
• Proficient with automotive estimating software for accurate service documentation.
• Demonstrated mechanic experience with a focus on quality workmanship and safety standards.
